Curriculum Map- American History I

This Curriculum Map (revised) is designed for a standard North Carolina American History I course. Civil War Unit Map-  American History I

This is a link to the Unit Map for unit 6 of the Curriculum Map above. This unit, "Blue vs. Gray," gives a brief outline to five lesson plans over the course of ten days. 

Civil War Lesson Plans (One day) And Assessments- American History I

This link to the Lesson Plan guides you to the one-day lesson plan of "Th end of Blue vs Gray," which primarily focuses on the 13th, 14th, and 15th amendments and the beginning of the Reconstruction Era.

This link is to the Lesson Plan about the "Duties on the farm," focusing on farming and the innovations that arose before, during, and shortly after the Civil War.

This link is to the Lesson Plan focusing on the "Life of the Soldier" during the Civil War. Students write a "letter home" after analyzing primary sources of soldier's letters written in the time of the Civil War.

American Revolution-American History I

In this link, are 5 lesson plans from the Fall 2020 semester. This is week 7, where we were going over the American Revolution. There are modifications for Covid-19, as seen within each lesson plan and more specifically, lesson #3.

This link is to Lesson Plan number four. This lesson primarily focuses on the Abraham Lincoln administration and the two most famous documents of Lincoln's career. Students will analyze these documents and create a modern-day version of the Gettysburg Address.

This link is to Lesson Plan number five, which is actually the first lesson of the unit. In this unit, students will create a social media timeline of the events that lead up to the start of the Civil War. This interactive lesson will get students to think about what caused the Civil War and the effect these events had on society at the time.
